Our Mission
South Island Dairy Demonstration Centre (SIDDC) has identified four key focus areas.
We will use these focus areas to measure our performance against our specified Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s).

- 3. People – Workplace, Community & Culture
- 4. Business Health & Performance
Each focus area will have primary goals that we are striving to achieve, which we will measure performance against annually. We also have secondary goals that provide a broader range of areas of focus.
The complexity of our goals and how each can affect the other, demonstrates the tension that can exist between the four key focus areas. This is the challenge in which we must optimise our farming system. This allows us to seek opportunities for better outcomes for the farm, our environment, and our stakeholders.
Our focus areas and goals have been developed by our governance and management committees to ensure our aspirations are aligned with the future of dairy farm systems in Canterbury. We set goals that collectively seek a sustainable farm business of the future.
Performance against these goals is reported annually and actions towards achieving these goals are communicated throughout the year in our newsletters and focus days. We review practices regularly to ensure that they are world leading and comply with the ever-evolving regulations and market requirements in the dairy industry.
